About us

Quality assurance, shaped by the people doing the work.

Owned and developed by Louis Baker, QualityShieldPro is a quality assurance platform for construction and building ownership, currently in development. Its purpose is to connect field findings, drawings, project decisions, and verified corrective work—and keep that knowledge useful throughout the life of a building.

Why QualityShieldPro exists

The work continues after a finding is documented.

A quality concern may begin with a photograph, a drawing markup, a test result, or an observation in a site report. Resolving it can involve a contractor’s response, a designer’s clarification, another site visit, and evidence that the corrective work addresses the original concern.

The person making the next decision needs the whole story: where the condition occurred, which detail or requirement applied, what was requested, who responded, and what the review actually established. When that context is spread across documents and conversations, the team has to reconstruct it. The same concern can return in the next report while the answer remains somewhere else.

QualityShieldPro grew from Louis Baker’s experience with that work. Its purpose is to connect the finding to the people, information, and decisions needed to move it forward, then preserve a record that someone else can understand.

Quality assurance first

Make the next decision easier to understand.

Our development priorities follow the work from an early question through installation, corrective review, and turnover.

Establish the basis.

A finding needs its location, drawing revision, applicable requirement, and original evidence. Questions about an incomplete detail or conditions observed before concealment need a clear place in the record.

Connect the response.

A design question may require an RFI. A change in scope or cost may require a separately reviewed change order. Keep those decisions connected to the concern, with the next responsibility visible.

Explain the outcome.

A submitted correction still needs review. Record the evidence considered, the decision made, and any limits or outstanding follow-up. Technical acceptance and commercial approval each retain their own meaning.

These priorities also make room for repeated findings, return visits, and concerns that remain unresolved. The aim is to help teams recognize what needs attention and understand why a reported status has changed.

Owner & Developer

The person behind the platform

Field experience with direct product ownership.

QualityShieldPro is owned and developed by Louis Baker, RRO, REWO, a building enclosure consultant and project manager. His experience includes roofing, waterproofing, exterior walls, windows, water-intrusion investigations, field testing, and construction administration.

Louis brings the field and project management perspectives together in the product’s direction. He is designing around the person documenting a condition on site, the professional reviewing a response, and the manager coordinating several projects at once. Experience using established construction and document-review software informs how those tasks need to connect.

Who we are building for

Different responsibilities. A shared understanding of the work.

The intended experience gives each participant the context needed for their next decision.

Owners & developers

Understand which concerns remain open, which decisions need attention, and what evidence supports a reported outcome. Carry useful project knowledge into ownership and future planning.

Consultants & designers

Keep observations, criteria, drawing context, testing, and follow-up together. Preserve the basis and limits of a review so the professional judgment behind it remains understandable.

Contractors & trades

Understand the condition, the requested response, and the evidence needed for review. Follow clarification, corrective work, and review feedback as responsibilities move between participants.

Property & facility teams

Understand prior conditions, repairs, reviewed outcomes, warranties, and remaining obligations when planning maintenance or the next project. Start with a useful history of the building.

Building enclosure experience provides the starting point for this approach. QualityShieldPro’s planned scope spans nine construction and property disciplines, each with its own requirements and qualified professionals. The platform is being designed to connect their contributions while preserving their distinct responsibilities.

Our official emblem

The Continuity Emblem.

The connected form of the Continuity Emblem represents the principle guiding QualityShieldPro: expertise, evidence, and decisions should remain connected as a building moves between teams and through time.

A project eventually closes. Its observations, repairs, review limitations, and remaining obligations can still matter to the next owner, consultant, or facility manager. Keeping that understanding available is central to the product we are building.

Expertise connected. Knowledge retained.
