How it works · a public product example

One finding.
A clear path to proof.

Follow a field observation from the drawing and original evidence to a reviewed correction—and the next installation that can learn from it.

Entirely synthetic. No customer data, actual inspection, photograph, test or certification is represented. This example explains the intended workflow.

One record. Different decisions.

What do you need to understand?

These public views change the emphasis only. They do not grant access or demonstrate account permissions.

Owner view

What remains uncertain, who owes the next action, and what supports acceptance? See the outcome, the reviewed evidence and the limits without reconstructing the history from separate messages.

Reviewer view

Which source applied, what was observed, and what is the basis for the decision? Keep original wording, revisions, later responses, observed coverage and unverified conditions distinct.

01 / source & location

Start with the right detail and the exact place.

The source reference and location give the finding a stable context. A later revision adds to that history.

Revision

East elevation / canopy-to-wall return

At the canopy-to-wall return, provide a continuous transition to the adjacent wall flashing. Document the interface before it is concealed. Submit unclear end conditions for review.

02 / original observation

Keep what was first observed.

F-001 · September 21, 2026 · 10:20 CDT

At east return E-01, the visible termination stops short of the adjacent flashing. Continuity could not be verified at the return. Review the detail and proposed correction before concealment.

Later responses remain separate. Assignment identifies the next responsible action; it does not decide fault.

The next useful action

Clarify the end condition.

Trade partner
Describe the proposed correction.
Design reviewer
Clarify the applicable detail.
Designated verifier
Record the observation and review the evidence.

All participants are fictional. Real authority follows the project agreement.

03 / linked clarification

A revised detail adds context. The original stays.

RFI-014 asks for the intended end condition on September 22. The fictional design response on September 23 references detail revision C.

Revision C clarifies the east return. Install the indicated continuous transition and present the interface for the designated review before concealment.

Keep these decisions distinct.

  • Finding F-001 records what was observed.
  • RFI-014 records the design clarification.
  • Revision C establishes the later correction reference.
  • Any cost or schedule change needs its own decision and authorization.

No change order, monetary impact or payment approval is asserted in this example.

04 / evidence returned

“Completed” still needs a basis.

On September 24, a simulated completion response describes the cover in place. It does not identify E-01 or document the interface before concealment.

Returned for additional evidenceThe original finding remains open.

This example contains a response narrative, not an actual photograph. The missing evidence is explicit.

What the reviewer requests

  1. Confirm the exact location and correction reference.
  2. Provide an appropriate view of the interface before cover.
  3. Arrange the designated review where the evidence cannot establish the condition.

A return visit is added to F-001. It is not counted as a second deficiency.

05 / verification & limits

State what supports acceptance—and its limits.

September 28, 2026 · 09:10 CDT

Observed correction accepted within scopeThe exposed E-01 interface is observed in this fictional case against revision C.

The verification note stays with the finding and the returned response. It does not become a blanket acceptance of the elevation or building.

06 / retained understanding

The building keeps the lesson.

The building history retains F-001, both detail references, RFI-014, the returned response, the verification note and the remaining limitations.

On October 2, the same interface at E-02 receives a planned review before concealment. Acceptance at E-01 does not automatically apply to E-02.

Three different things to count

Repeat visit
A later event on the same unresolved finding.
New occurrence
A separately observed defect, with its own ID and a link to the pattern.
Prevention
A check at the next relevant location. It is not evidence of another defect.

Prevent the next repeat

Put the lesson before the next cover goes on.

A planned review before concealment can keep an interface visible while the responsible parties decide what is needed. The checkpoint should name the location, evidence required, designated reviewer and project authority.

This is a proposed customer-platform workflow. This public example does not issue approvals, stop work, notify teams or enforce a hold point. Actual authority must be established by the project agreement.
